Should you try edibles?

In 30 minutes they can be ready to eat, only three ingredients needed.

Edibles are simply food with cannabinoids added. The exact percentages of THC and CBD vary considerably from one product to another, not to mention what’s in that brownie your friend just gave you. Here is a simple firecracker recipe you can do at home, give it a try! I’ll explain it all after.

Firecracker Recipe

Grind up enough weed to make a joint. Preferably weed which you have actually tried before so you can compare. Take 2 crackers, I use Ritz but any kind will do. Spread some Nuttella on both (you can use peanut butter instead). Sprinkle your weed on one cracker and place the other on top with the filling in between. Wrap loosely in foil and bake at 250 F for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

The effect of edibles doesn’t happen right away. It will be at least 30 minutes or more before you start to feel anything. It will take even longer before the full effect happens. It will last quite a while. Unfortunately there are some (not many) people whose liver cannot process the THC, they will not feel it at all. How did your experience compare with that last joint?

Why this recipe works

The most important step in this recipe is baking, it decarboxylates the cannabis.  Decarboxylation is a process that chemically changes the molecular structure of the cannabinoids from THCA (non-psychoactive) to THC (psychoactive). When you smoke a joint, combustion does the work.  When you make an edible, you must do it an alternate way.

The recipe also handles dosing, which can be a problem when using extracts.  Making an individual dose equivalent to a joint gives you a starting point that you already understand.
